The Secret Government part 1

Back in 1987, I think, Bill Moyers put together a documentary on what he called the Secret Government. Prior to the National Security Act of 1948, the United States had traditionally demobilized after a war and returned to concentrating on domestic issues. After WWII, however, the US began the cold war. He created the National Security Council and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and things have never been as they were before 1947-48. A new "secret government" was established that increasingly regarded the war on Communism as imbued with a higher moral purpose such that a-constitutional and unconstitutional and patently illegal methods were OK if the target was International Communism.
