The erstwhile "maverick" politician, John McCain, shot to stardom based on his Vietnam martyrdom and his reputation for apparent "straight talking" about issues of importance. It turns out that Mr McCain has, since the 1990's, been advocating the unbridled use of American military power to curb "rogue states". To this end, he would empower a "league of Democracies" (basically the G-7) who would collectively act to put down disruptive powers around the globe without the interference of the UN and it's veto wielding Security Council. Now surrounded with a cadre of neocon advisers who is is willing to hear, McCain lurches toward November to be born. Let's see if we can abort.
